On 22 November 2021, ACI Seed arranged a retailer program on Tamim Plus, a prominent variety of cucumber of East-West Seed. The event was arranged with assistance of M/S Mithila Beej Bhnader at Fulpur, Mymensingh. Tamim Plus is a winter special cucumber variety of East West Seed and the farmers are getting satisfactory result by cultivating it during this season in different locations of the country. The cultivation period of the variety is from September to February. The fruit colour is attractive green and fruit size is 18-20 centimetre long. The fruit weight is 250-260 gram. The yield is 15-16 MT per acre. Fulpur Upazilla of Mymensingh District is a paramount place for cucumber cultivation. Considering the potentiality, ACI Seed conducted the retail program with 32 retailers on Tamim Plus for making a sales and promotional plan for this season.
Mr. Yusuf Alam, Asst. Marketing Manager; Mr. Monosiz Kumar Mondal, Regional Sales Manager; Mr. Alok Chandra Sil, Area Sales Executive, Mr. Talim Hossain, Sr. Marketing Officer of ACI Seed and Mr. Mohammad Khaled Mostafa, Product Manager, Mr. Rakibul Islam, Market Development Officer of East West Seed were present in the program. The Officials of ACI and East West Seed discussed on the focused products, specially Cucumber – Tamim Plus, Imran; Bitter Gourd – Palee Plus; Ridge Gourd – Bir Super; Pumpkin – Dorodi, Pirity Super and Okra – Express. The retailers showed the interest to sell Tamim Plus aggressively and provided a projection of 300 Kg from November 2021 to March 2022 along with other prominent products. ACI Seed expects to harvest a satisfactory sale of Tamim Plus in upcoming months.
