In September 2020, ACI Seed promoted its vegetable seeds to two different customer segments countrywide: farmers and nursery owners. The ACI Seed teams continued to explore different vegetable nurseries and communicate directly with the owners as they are the sources of seedlings for many smallholder farmers cultivating vegetables. Both the farmers and nursery owners are relying on ACI Seed’s products for higher quality and better yield. Nurseries are important as they are major sources for producing healthy seedlings which can later produce higher yield. Among the vegetable seeds, Hybrid bitter gourd “Papaya Super” is one of the country’s dominant varieties in bitter gourd and it is marketed by ACI Seed. The variety gives an additional yield of 1.5 to 2 mt per acre compared to any other variety in the market. Attractive green colored fruit weights 300-350 gm on an average.
