Treating farm animals with vaccines is crucial to produce immunity against diseases. According to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), average losses due to animal diseases are more than 20%. Animal vaccination thus provides manifold benefits including healthy and disease-free farm animal in an inexpensive but effective way. Animal vaccination also prevents spreading of infections to other animals and zoonotic diseases to Human. Proper information and tracking are crucial for farm vaccination where mobile apps can play a vital role. An app-aided vaccination system can help the farmers to plan, organize and track each animal’s vaccination process. It can also calculate the associated cost and benefit. In an advanced stage, the app may enable the buyers/consumers as well to check the animals’ vaccination status before purchase. With Fosholi, launched by IDSS (Intelligent Decision Support System) project of ACI, such possibilities of vaccination management through mobile app can be explored for Bangladesh in near future.
