In March 2022, ACI Seed arranged several Field Day Programs on Bangla Link, a prominent variety of watermelon of East-West Seed. The field days were held at Galachipa, Patuakhali; Muzibnagar, Bhola and Subarnachar, Noakhali. The Business sold the variety on trial basis and conducted demonstrations at the potential markets. The farmers are getting satisfactory results by cultivating Bangla Link in this season in different locations of Patuakhali, Bhola, Khulna, Bagerhat and Noakhali. The average fruit weight is 8-10 Kg. About 85-90% of the fruits are uniform in size, shape and color. The bricks percentage of the variety is 10-12. The fruits can be collected 80-85 days after sowing. Bangla Link looks very attractive and the farmers are getting more price than any other variety in the market.
Mr. Mostafa Kamal, Country Manager; Mr. Khaled Mostafa, Product Manager, Mr. Bayzid, Market Development Officer of East West Seed and Mr. Yusuf Alam, Asst. Marketing Manager, Mr. Ashraf Ali, Territory Executive of ACI Seed were present in the field day programs. The model farmers and retailers participated in the programs. The farmers were very pleased by getting the excellent result from Bangla Link.
