IDSS (Intelligent Decision Support System) project of ACI Agribusiness won the ‘Champion’ title in Industrial Category under Agriculture sector in BASIS National ICT Award 2018 on 6 September 2018 for its Fosholi mobile app.
Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology and Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Division handed over the award to IDSS Team of ACI Agribusiness in presence of Secretary of ICT Division, Secretary of Post & Telecommunication Division, President and other Directors of Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS).
Fosholi clinched the top prize in this category, overtaking other strong contending submissions in agriculture category by leading ICT companies (some of which are CMMI Level 3 and Level 5 certified) and Ministry of Agriculture.
BASIS has nominated ফসলি (Fosholi), a platform developed by IDSS team for the farming community, to represent Bangladesh in Industrial application category and compete in 18th APICTA Award, to be held in Guangzhou, China. APICTA is the confederation of ICT trade bodies of 17 member countries from Asia including leading economies like Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan.
The team considered this award as a recognition from the ICT industry to the relevance and potentiality of the Fosholi app to play a game-changing role in the field of agriculture. However, a short celebration by cutting cake took place in ACI premises. Our visionary leader, Dr. Arif Dowla, Managing Director, ACI Ltd., Dr. F H Ansary, MD & CEO, ACI Agribusiness and other colleagues from ACI center were present in this event to inspire the team for their venture and suggested them to put further effort to win a place for Fosholi in the daily life of the Farming Community.
