A very interesting part of the history is that coffee was discovered first by the goat herders around 800 A.D. Sounds interesting? Yes, the herders observed a certain behavioral change in their goats. After eating a plant named Coffea the goats showed a certain type of dance. After hearing this incident a local monk decided to make a drink from the coffee which kept him awake for the whole night. That’s the moment when the original cup of coffee was born.
Coffee holds a rough journey to be established in the mass heart. Since the discovery, coffee faced multiple attempts of getting banned by the rulers especially in Mecca in 1511 and Sweden in 1746. It was thought to stimulate radical thinking and idleness. Divorce was associated with coffee in Arab culture if a husband was not able to serve her fresh coffee in the morning. Starting from artists to philosophers, majority would love to have coffee as their partner. Coffee is consumed in different ways and named based on the recipe and the way of making it. The level of roast and origin of the beans are also part of this diversification. Espresso, Doppio, Ristretto, Long Macchiato, Short Macchiato, Mezzo Mezzo, Cappuccino, Latte, Flat White, Mocha, Cold Drip and Cold Brew are some of the most popular ones. Interesting fact is coffee is known as a drink but not always it was meant to be a liquid treat. Historians claimed that the first African tribes to consume coffee did so by grinding the berries together, adding in some animal fat, and rolling these caffeinated treats into tiny edible energy balls.

The popularity of coffee prevailed so much that likewise restaurants people started holding shops or selling points solely for Coffee named ‘ cafe, coffee shop, Barista etc. Most importantly the way a chef is known for the artistry of cooking, and baristas are known for their expertise in making different types of coffee drinks. The use of coffee is not limited only to making coffee drinks rather it is also used in making coffee-based food like coffee cake, ice cream, coffee-rubbed steak, beef stew, caramel etc. Moreover, coffee holds a very important role in the sector of perfumery. It is found in research that coffee aroma plays a great role in refreshing the nose or olfactory fatigue.
