Palee Plus is a very prominent variety of Bitter Gourd of East West Seed. It is an international variety of East West Seed. ACI Seed is giving a special focus on the variety considering the market potentiality. Palee Plus is a long segment variety of Bitter Gourd. The average fruit weight of the variety is 250-300 gm and the average yield is 14-15 MT/Acre. The fruit color is shiny dark green and the length is 25-30 cm. Palee Plus is a year- round variety. The specialty of the variety is that 90% of fruits are the same in weight and size. Khulna, Bagerhat, Bhola, Meherpur, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Cumilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Bogura and Dinajpur are prominent places for bitter Gourd cultivation. The marketing team of East West Seed and field force of ACI Seed arranged a campaign program on Palee Plus at the potential market of Bitter Gourd during June 2021. The campaign program included a haat-bazaar campaign, scheduled farmers’ meet, spot meeting, retailers’ outreach and field day at demo fields.
The farmers and retailers were very excited to know about the key performance indicators of Palee Plus through the programs. They have shown commitment to cultivating the variety in this season on a trial basis.
