ACI Seed has recently launched a new variety of cucumber under the brand name ‘Messi’ with the aim of taking the leading position in winter season. The variety is highly suitable for the winter season. The specialty of the variety is excellent, uniformed, and attractive deep green fruit as well as higher marketable yield. The cultivation period of the variety is from September to February. The fruit size is 18-20 centimetre long. The fruit weight is 250-260 gram. The average yield is 15-16 MT per acre. Messi will ensure a 10-15% yield advantage compared to other prominent varieties in the market.
Considering the potentiality of the current season, the Field Force of ACI Seed conducted special campaign program and demonstration at cucumber-based farming areas; like – Mymensingh, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Netrokona, Manikganj, Dinajpur and Thakurgaon. The campaign program included farmers’ meeting, retailer meeting, haat-bazar campaign, retailer contact and the usage of different promotional materials at retail points. The farmers already have a fantastic result of the variety in their field and showing a wonderful response to cultivate more in coming months.
